Master Petrus de Vries

Master Petrus de Vries started his martial arts training in Bloemfontein in the Free State, South Africa at the age of 13 participating in the Japanese Karate style of Shotokan under Sensei Whitey Pollock and Sensei Chapman. After some years of training Master de Vries started training in ITF Tae Kwon Do under Sabumnim Stephanie Smith. After reaching the rank of Black Belt Master de Vries and his family moved to Janesville, Wisconsin in 2002.

Master De Vries was the two time South African champion in Breaking, Forms and Sparring before moving to the USA. While in the USA master De Vries
won the Wisconsin State Championship twice in Breaking, and Forms. He then
went on to deliver 11 Gold Medalists at the World Martial Arts Tournament in
Columbus, Ohio. He also became the USA National Champion in Forms and had 17
students became USA Champions over a period of 2 years from his school.

In Janesville Master de Vries first train with Mr. Peterson, an instructor for Master An out of Rockford, IL. Here he moved through the ranks till he reached the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt.

Master de Vries then opened his own Martial Arts School, Powerkix Martial Arts, and started training under Grandmaster Dr. Sang Kee Paik and Master Peter Paik. Master de Vries worked hard and received his 4th Degree Black Belt from Master Paik.

Master de Vries also trained numerous students and helped his students to 15 World Championships and 18 National Championships. Master de Vries has also tested a total of 65 students for different levels of Black belt.

Master de Vries was the first person to start to train people in Mixed Martial Arts in Janesville and helped several fighters to become Champions under the name of Team Extreme Pitbull. Using his knowledge of several different styles of martial arts and his Special Forces training from South Africa, Master de Vries is still very involved in MMA.

After taking a 2 year break to go back to school and obtain a Masters Degree in Law; Master de Vries re-opened his martial arts school but under the name of Eagle Tae Kwon Do. Many of his old students started training with him again and are getting ready for the Tournament Circuit.

in Los Angeles under Grand master Park.

At Eagle Tae Kwon Do, different instructors teach a variety of martial arts such as Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Aikido, Grappling and Mixed Martial Arts in a friendly but still disciplined and respectful environment.
